Very good info in the article. I don't use +p ammo as a general rule, the exception is in my snubby .38. I have shot it in my 9 mm but I prefer a heavier bullet, so I don't carry it. I also don't use it in my carry .45 ACP.

I like heavy bullets too, by the way what do you think of a Springfield 1911, I'm looking at one today, and thinking of getting it. I never had one before, it is ported on the slide and in Stainless, with the same sights in picture.

SGT (Join to see) for some reason me and 1911's have never jelled, I use a Glock 30 in .45 ACP, it points well, feels good on my hand. If I were looking for a 1911 I would want to shoot it first.

Maj Robert Thornton - I have a 1911 already, but was just wanting more information on a Springfield handgun, never had a Springfield. My 45APC is a Ruger American. My Glock-17 is a great gun that I enjoy very much, it's my main 9mill.

I am a big fan of +P ammo for my revolvers.

But uninformed folks need to be careful. I have also seen a few older revolvers literally blown by +P ammo. Luckily no one was hurt.
