SGM,
I do not agree it is a stalemate. We are the insurgents holding less ground and the Talaban control the narritive. The enemy has picked great ground to fight on.
IMO, if we have to be there we should control selected high ground and patrol the perimeter using Ambush, drones, Warthogs... to bleed the enemy. It would be ground held by Infidels and they would have to come after us. Let us not forget avenues of approach. I would throw out nation building in an area that has 49% man boy love relationships.
I doubt if the reason we are there is so simple. But I could be wrong. I'm thinking projection of power to keep Defense contracts flowing. However, ours it not to reason why. But to do, or die.
