Very interesting article. I think the way RU survives, is that they must become an ally of China or USA. That will be the next future to watch. Russia would grow under a USA alliance against CH.

Agree with you that Russia could be a major power but I am far less optimistic that it will ever happen given the Russian internal prejudices that always seem to get in the way of anything more than a superficial friendship or alliance..........they are almost as bad as the Nazi's when it comes to respecting diversity or other cultures.

I think that Vladimir Putin has no interest whatsoever in alliances with the West. He is interested in influencing Western politics, but not interested in respecting Western societal values regarding freedom, individualism, and the social compact.
