Expecting politicians to do their job on a broad scale and think of America before their party was your first mistake.

You had Tom Daschle (Dr. No) and Harry Reid that had a desk full of bills not voted on by the Senate and have the gall to complain about this? As per the Plan of the Day, pure hypocrisy. Seems to me that McConnell learned well from his Democrat predecessors.

MCPO Roger Collins If I could go back and complain on a non-exist RP at that time I would. It's not hypocrisy if you've always hated it.

But that doesn't change the question - is it something you support and think is within the intent that the Founders had in operating a government?

McConnel is worried that the House bills would pass the Senate, and that he'd be forced to send them to the President.

That doesn't mean the President would sign them anyways.

PO2 Robert Aitchison True. But, that's the job of the Senate - to send bills to the President that passed the House and Senate. To not do so because he already knows the President doesn't like it is failing to do his job.

SGT Cort Landry And it's the President's job to sign or veto. That's his role in this. If the Senate decides to not send bills up, they've effectively taken away a Presidential power and responsibility.

I just want people to do their job and let the system work like it was designed - rather than trying to rig it to go how they want..

SGT Cort Landry - That's the President's decision, McConell is making sure the President isn't faced with having to decide to sign a bill that doesn't include any money for his wall or veto one that would re-open the government. It's the job of congress to write the laws and the job of the President to sign or veto them, it's not the job of the Senate to save the President from embarrassment.
