Thank goodness for caller ID, which has been around since the late 80s. If I don't know the number it doesn't get anssered. Also someone needs to tell the scammers to hire new employees. The same lady that told me the IRS was issuing a warrant in my name is now telling me that a credit card is going to make an automatic deduction from my account unless I call.

Ya, that's the same with me if tv is on. I like the thought of answering with XXX County Sheriff's Department, may try that on some of the numbers that consistently call.

I never even get that far, just don't answer and let the answering pick up. Amazing how many can't handle a machine.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I used to do that, but they kept calling. Now I answer with 'Orleans County Sheriff's Department'. The volume has dropped considerably.
