This saddens me actually. I think as a leader, political or not, you don't want to surround yourself with "Yes man". I find it best to have people around you that align with your mission but also challenge you. This way you can see several ways of moving forward and pick from what is placed before you to make the best choice. It may not be the way you originally saw things but in the end, if the ends justify the means then why not listen to others and their point of views?

General Sad Dog Mattis was a joke as Secretary of Defense. And never, did I ever buy into the cult of Mattis. He was just another leg jarhead Infantry Officer to me. I did have high hopes that he was going to roll back the political correctness that has infected the DOD since the Clinton administration. Especially where transgenders are concerned. But alas, Sad Dog was co-opted by the DC Beltway a long time ago. He publicly disagreed with his boss and it was time for him to go. Now Sad Dog can get his six figure job on the board of directors of a defense firm or think tank.

Well, I guess we disagree on Mattis then. I'm heading off to cry now.
