Lt Col Charlie Brown How dare you, $6.5 million for housing at a reserve military base in Sparta Wisconsin (Fort McCoy) will save the Government...., well nothing...... there is no reason at all for some of these deleted projects. But think of the children.

MAJ (Join to see) - It may not be a necessity to update Fort McCoy, but as a reservist, I mobilized out of there and most of the buildings should have been condemned. Some of them were. We had no heat in many of our barracks. We were training from December to February. It was brutal.

SPC Samantha Stapley - Most of us have mobilized there, this is money for permanent housing, which is plentiful off base, certainly not a priority. One of my favorite Army memories is range day 29 degrees below zero, everyone was shaking so bad it was nearly impossible to hit the 50M target, fortunately the wind and ice made most of the targets fall back down so everyone still qualified without actually hitting the targets!

I see some here do not think those projects listed are critical.
2 points:
Base housing is in critical need of improvement across the globe.
A wall on the border is not as critical as most of those items listed.
I find it ironic that, first, Trump sends troops to the border with little support, then his people claim they need to build a wall to protect them. How about just bringing them home, then they would not need protection?

MSgt Kurt S. - WOW!
That is an amazing analyst. Too bad it is incorrect. Not even close. Well you got part of it right. I am 70 something years old and I am retired US Army. The rest of your fiction is just that, fiction.
By the way, I have never stated "there are things I can't do."

MSgt Kurt S. - First, you are obviously confusing me with someone else. I "take a vacation" many times a year. I used to be a full time RVer, but since I bought a brand new home 2 years back, I only RV about half the time each year.
You know nothing about me, you are just trying to form your opinion on what I post here.
I'll give you a little bit more of my personal life. After I retired from the Army, I worked full time, plus ran my own horse boarding business on my ranch. I then opened my own gun store in 1999 and ran it for 5 years, selling out at a profit when I took up RVing.
There ya go. How's that fit your fictional story?

MSgt Kurt S. - I give up, You obviously have confused me with someone else and won't admit it, so you go on about your way and I'll go mine.

MSgt Kurt S. - You know respect goes a long way. You don't deserve any. And it is all because someone has a different opinion than you. The military surely didn't teach you anything about respect.

Funny, some of the idiot protesters are referencing the Berlin Wall, without a thought it was to keep people in. We want to keep control of who comes in.
