Saw this article earlier, but while I was searching for it to post, I found that another Fort Hood soldier was arrested for rape today, and another recently in a prostitution sting that had a rope, knife, duct tape, and a body bag. Also found that Fort Hood had the most sexual assaults of any Army post over from 2013 to 2016, and the second most of any U.S. military installation in the world, according to a 2017 Pentagon report. No words.

This is just so disappointing. Parents support their children on their enlistment into the Army, I’m doing so they trust they will be taking care of and protected since the Military does a great job of defending our nation. So when I hear and read about this happening in our OWN ranks, it’s such a disappointment. If we can’t feel safe around our brothers and sisters in arms, then we definitely have a problem in our ranks which is going to take ALL of us to fix....

SFC (Join to see) I concur. I was shocked by these stories about Hood, and to add to my heartbreak, I also ran across the article on West Point having a stand down for sexual harassment. I appreciate your tying it to the reality that these young adults are someone's child, and of all the bad things you may expect with military service, this isn't one I would expect to come to mind.
There is no upside to this crime, but I am glad he documented it to make it easier to prosecute. No words.
