I did read about their experiments on human subjects with limited information given to them about what the studies were about.

Yeah, I think they also did the study that led to K rations, I'm not 100% sure, called the starvation study by Ancel Keys, PhD, hence the K in ratoons, ma!ed for him, I'd sent stuff in on it, he die a massive time on starvation in humans, valid ethical science done with conscientious objectors, who said it was actually quite rough, though a landmark in ethical, informed human research, look it up, you'll find it fascinating, promise, I don't know about C rations, I've meant to look up their history as well....
