I abhor the use of drugs by anyone in the military, it is a sad fact that anyone could be forward deployed on a carrier and try to get away with this type of behavior. In 1981, we all thought the flight-deck accident on Nimitz that started the zero-tolerance and drug testing programs still used in the Navy today would see an end to this. Everyone in Reactor works in a national security program, so I am glad they got caught and are being punished to deter further behavior like this. Numbers wise 5 have been charged, 4 convicted and discharged, one gets an Article 32 hearing that takes more time. 10 more were administratively disciplined for ties to the drug ring, that likely means they'll not be working with any program that requires a clearance, for a very long time.
