We went to a museum that featured the arts and crafts of the Japanese in these camps. Unbelievable stuff. There were pictures showing how little they had and how sparce the camps were so that made it all the more amazing to me.

In 1988, President Reagan signed the Civil Liberties Act to compensate more than 100,000 people of Japanese descent who were incarcerated in internment camps during World War II. The legislation offered a formal apology and paid out $20,000 in compensation to each surviving victim.

Young Japanese-American men joined the Army to prove their patriotism. They were fed into a meat grinder a few times. One such mission was saving a TX BN thereby experiencing more casualties than the unit they were trying to rescue.
