We don't have to look too far back in history to see that a Dark Horse could yet emerge to salvage the situation for the Democrats. When George H. W. Bush ran for reelection, he was at the height of his popularity. His poll numbers were staggering following the success of the war to drive Saddam's forces out of Kuwait, and the most likely Democratic contenders bowed out of the race leaving the field open for the unknown Bill Clinton to step in (and the rest, as they say, is history). The difference today is that the most likely Democratic contenders aren't bowing out. They're jumping in with both feet and making asses of themselves advancing radical agendas of socialism and the New Green Deal. I sincerely hope that someone rational shows up...

I think the recent absolute rejection of AOC's Green New Deal is a good demonstration of how the Democrat party is in disarray. On the campaign trail they can talk endless about supporting it to win over voters, but when it's their time to vote in the Senate on the proposal, they all show their true colors. As I see it, these Democrat candidates want to fire up the voters of the more extreme elements of their party, but they also don't want to lose their core base of supporters such as the labor unions.

The problem for Democrats is they have to appeal to their base which is far left of center. Most of the candidates are far left of center also or carry a LOT of baggage. Trumps last rally was Hugh. Of course the lame stream media didn’t cover crowd size etc. That points to enthusiasm among supporters. We will but unless something happens Trump gets a second term. People who keep saying Trump is stupid are not worth listening to. You do not become president by being an idiot.
