The photos are great, it appeared to be a normal country. Girls in school, faces not covered, Different cultures on the buses. Not the shit hole it will become. Biden administration has shit the bed in Afghanistan.

I am actually more optimistic than most. I think our 20 year occupation left a deep mark of impression in those that will be left behind (not everyone will leave). Lets sit back and watch for a bit and see what happens. We did eventually win Vietnam over, the Capitalist side won even though the Communists are still in control. Perhaps a similar compromise for Afghanistan in the future. I have my doubts it will go down the same path as Iran has. We'll see.
