Some good points are made in this piece. By putting the spotlight on those who admit to thoughts of suicide, we end up taking them out of their jobs, away from their support systems and likely ending their upward movement. In that case, why would anyone call the helpline? This refers to active duty NOT veterans.

A big issue is Guard and Reserve service members. When they return from deployment they lose have limited military support. Many also have lost their jobs or their businesses they owned have gone down the drain. I have seen it happen.
