Harrison County Veterans Office picking up some W.Va. veterans on way to VA hospitals

What a great little concept. As long as you are on the way, why not make it a party?

Nice to see people helping others.

This has been horrible with the cutting of paid driver positions in WV. Many of the patients I see live over an hour from the VA and cannot drive themselves and just getting picked up by the DAV has been a lifesaver for them. Quite sad. We have very few volunteer drivers now and it’s made it very difficult for a lot of veterans to get to the main facilities for specialty care.
