I have a lot of respect for Mattis and I think he is one of the great combat leaders. However, he drank the cool aid of the "duties" of a world super power and he was always a big supporter of NATO and seemed to support the expansion of NATO and NATO's mission from the original agreement. No matter how you want to slice it, NATO intervention in Libya and Syria fueled the current "refugee" crisis in Europe and only served to destabilize two more Middle Eastern nations. What we need at the top is someone that realizes that sometimes the best policy is to mind your own business.
I'm not crying over the death of Globalism.

Too bad he had to leave the SecDef job. I think he gave us a lot of credibility in the world.

MAJ Byron Oyler
I think most of the credibility we have had in the world was bought. So many are upset how we are treating our allies now and the money we have taken away from other countries and really in my opinion, we have fallen from many graces because we have a President that refuses to be the world's bitch. I would love to be respected by other countries while at the same time they contribute to the safety and security of the world at the same level in relation to GNP.

MAJ Byron Oyler - Or be the enforcer for foreign policy direct by the Germans. The whole Balkan mess was guided by the Germans and the international press did a great job of demonizing the Serbs, who remain the largest displaced population from all those conflicts. I am of the opinion that if it isn't worth stomping anyone that opposes you flat, then maybe it really isn't in our best interest to stick our noses in it.
