I don't necessarily agree with the basic training/ boot camp. my father went to Parris island in 1943 and called it basic training, I was there in 1983 and call it basic training. Although we both had drill instructors. Not drill sgts

Generally I will ask if they went to Airborne school at Ft Sill or Ft Bragg. The fakers will choose one and not say Benning.
Trick questions will generally work.

You actually had me look it up, The few who went to an officail airborne school at Ft Bragg is a small enough group it is still a safe reality check on a faker , but most that went to bragg for Jump school wasww2 vets who lets be real we are not likely to call out for much

Dix wasn't shut down in the 1990s- the active army basic training ended, but it transitioned to a Army Reserve and Guard training center. There was a lot of training conducted there throughout the 90s and 00s. Several thousand people worked there and thousands of soldiers were trained every year.

Dix ended its active Army training mission in 1991 due to Base Realignment and Closure Commission recommendations, which ended its command by a two-star general. Presently, it serves as a joint training site for all military components and all services.
