MCPO Roger Collins - There has been no substantive changes to the rules of evidence on hearsay since 1972. And the change then was that they were codified, as the basic rules had not changed much at all since the 1800s.

MCPO Roger Collins - OK, and? Hearsay is used for all sorts of things. It's just not used in court for a final trial. You can get warrants based on hearsay, file charges based on hearsay, and so on.
