Hope springs eternal but I wouldn't count on it. It seems that those who want to think about the issues and debate them turn to talk radio and the blogosphere where they know that freedom of speech prevails. All the major networks and minor players like CNN, MSN, et al, who are decidedly Leftist and restrict free speech, are losing audience and survive only with deep pockets or government subsidies (PBS and NPR)

It's interesting how the Left-oriented main stream media, the major networks and government-funded stations like PBS, continue in business despite declining audiences. Those who have attempted to wing it as entrepreneurs have failed quickly and gone out of business. Witness Al Gore's effort to launch a Left-wing talk radio station. Meanwhile, those with a conservative/Right leaning ideology flourish on talk radio and in the blogosphere without government subsidies or deep pockets to sustain them.

CPT Jack Durish That could be because most of the conservative leaning population actually believes in paying for the services they use,Cpt. Jack.

That's the situation, Captain. The Right is contending against a propaganda machine of the Left that has the financial support of subsidies and some dedicated wealthy Socialists (is that oxymoronic?) striving for control via manipulation.
