Protest is one thing,treason is another. Her own words convict her of treason,but she was never charged. Here is a document of her actual words during her visit to Vietnam.
IMO,this is a narrative written by the NVA and given to her to broadcast to American personnel. The hesitations on this are indicative of someone reading from something written for them that they are not familiar with,any POW could have gotten released or at least privileges by doing what she did,but he would have been branded a traitor and prosecuted.Sorry,still a touchy spot with me.
