I think this is inaccurate.
Trump actually has a pretty conventional model of diplomacy. It is just different from recent administrations.
Trump has been emphasizing economic factors and leverage in pretty much every diplomatic exchange. Trade deals, tariffs, how much NATO pays for defense, how the DPRK can develop if they stop building nukes and join the world community... all of them have the common denominator of economic considerations. This is conventional thinking' the "E" in DICE for international influence.
Trump just emphasizes it to a fault, and deemphasizes the diplomatic, information (at least internationally, not domestically), and military means of leveraging support and agreements.
I'm quite sure that diplomats that grew up doing things one way and having it go another now are disoriented by it, but they are smart people. They will adapt.

I beg to disagree... the former administration’s actions is killing the State Department. There were so many missteps in the past administration, it’s probably going to take a full 8 years to just get us back to even.

Spoon feed? Let me break this down for you.

YOU claimed that “the former administration’s actions is killing the State Department.”

I asked how. You haven’t answered the question, and are instead blabbering about the Ottoman Empire.

Some advice. If you are going to make a claim be able to back it up.

I’ve talked to *anti-vaxxers* who put more thought into their arguments than you. And no, that isn’t a compliment.

Take it easy, I can’t help if you don’t understand how that area of the world formed. If I didn’t have a Palestinian friend who pushed me to learn over the years because I wanted to keep up with him in friendly debate, I wouldn’t understand either. Either you want to learn or you don’t. If you don’t, then don’t be surprised when you can’t hold your side of an argument and the other side disengages and leaves. Like I said before: Take care. I stayed here too long. SPC (Join to see)

Ok. So tell me then. You made your statement. Can you back it up? You made the claim. You are the one who can’t even explain yourself. If you have nothing to back it up, that’s alright. But so far you haven’t offered anything at all.

Look. I’ll try one last time. You said “the former administration’s actions is killing the State Department.” And when I asked how you said it was from promoting the Arab Spring.

How did promoting the Arab Spring kill the State Department?

No insults. No arguments. No telling anyone to go read a book. I’m honestly curious as to what you mean by this. If you could explain how said support has killed the State Department, I would appreciate it.

If you won’t, then just say so and let’s end the conversation here.
