Sorry story all around. Commander Lippold is correct that Secretary Spencer’s actions warranted firing. His news interviews trying to justify his actions are BS rationalizations. The President intervening in a UCMJ action was inappropriate. When I saw Gallagher on the news, I thought “looks like a battle hardened warfighter, but sounds like a whiny E-3 going to the IG because the mess hall ran out of desert”. Spencer & Gallagher should both man up and accept the consequences.
