I've long held that "little s" socialism is a good idea... but "Big S" Socialism is a very, very bad idea. Christianity teaches charity; I've yet to come across the verse in the Bible, Old or New Testament, that (when taken in the proper context) justifies greed, selfishness, or lack of concern for our fellow human beings. The notion that we're all connected, and have a moral obligation to help one another is, in my opinion, correct. That's why I support fair taxation, fairly administered social service programs, quality public services, etc. Where I disagree with the current argument for "Democratic Socialism", is that it limits the freedoms and prosperity of all in favor of an enforced mediocrity.
