Changing the designation does nothing to change the problem. The problem is NOT in Mexico or Central America. The problem is in the USA.
As long as there is the tremendous profit to be made selling drugs to Americans, there will be groups fighting and killing to make those profits.

I want to know what else will be done. It's kind of hard to say with just a proclamation. I get the freezing assets and such but that alone does what?

This does give the feds more ability to go after the cartels which is a good thing. Our primary issue is we have a large element of our population that wants to stay stoned all of the time and creates demand for the cartels product. No, not suggesting we legalize the garbage they send across the border but the cartels are only fulfilling a want on our side of the border.
