There has been virtually no accounting of what exactly we are doing in Afghanistan except for occasional pushback on reducing troop levels. From where I sit, this is a zombie mission that no one wants to turn off, but doesn't really have any initiative or desired end state either.
What does "winning" look like there? I haven't heard a straight answer on that for 18 years.
