She came on the scene at the right time for England. And in conjunction with Ronald Reagan, fixed many a global problem.
And I suppose that just like Reagan, there are many who don't care for her, think that she is 'overrated' and is just living off her reputation. That's fine, everyone's entitled to their own opinions....even if they're wrong!! ;-))

It would be interesting to look back at the English response to her death. President Reagan's funeral was met with a great public display of respect and sadness. Like Lincoln and Kennedy's funeral trains, masses lined the way to his graveside. It was a display that I'm sure Reagan's enemies would rather we forget, one that I bet they wish they could forget.

CPT Jack Durish - Yeah, I noticed another article that talked about the day she died in 2013, and was sorta surprised that they mentioned only 2000 people at her funeral. I was, ummmm, 'out-of-the-country, in 2013 so I don't remember too much about the media's response...although, I could probably speculate and not be too far off!!
I do remember seeing somewhere that there were some 4000+ at Reagan's funeral.
The third figure - that isn't often discussed - that was behind the fall of Communism was Saint Pope John Paul II. I do remember his funeral and that (at the time) it was the largest collection of "heads of state" ever witnessed....and of course there was some 100,000+ on hand at his funeral!!

One of a few politicians that didn't stick her finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing. Not only was she principled but did so with conviction. In a scrum, not sure who would come out on top, her or Golda Meir.

Very apt comparison. The only edge that I'll give Golda is that she had the opportunity to display physical as well as moral courage, and she took it.
