It should not be taught IMHO

I think they should not offer it. There is no gap in philosophy or ethics which atheism fills. There is no positive definition of atheism, as it's own philosophy, so the course would be a negative one. It's just like a little kid who doesn't like sharing his toys with his friends...he doesn't want to share, but he has no positive alternative, just a rejection of the good ethic the father was trying to teach.
