I first encountered roundabouts in New Jersey long, long ago. I didn't see another until I drove through Long Beach, California a few decades later. Now I'm beginning to see them pop up in communities that weren't developed until the 2000's. Personally, I have no problem with them other than the fact that few drivers understand the yield on entering rule. Once that becomes more popularly known, I suspect we'll see more of them appearing. Military bases would be an excellent place to start. Those who have deployed to places like England and France where roundabouts are common, must be familiar with them.
