In 1980, when I was a Cadet, I visited a recently commissioned friend at Fort Riley. Armor officer. He had to show off his M60 A1, or whatever. Offered to let me drive it, which offer I accepted with alacrity. No long trip....just out the gate, down the tank trail, turn around and head for the barn. Once we got it back on line in the motor pool, I put on a rubber Yoda mask, head sticking out of the driver hatch, just in time for the Bn Cdr to see the unauthorized driver in the vehicle. He took a photo with a Polaroid, which he then posted on a bulletin board in the battalion HQ.
