The National Response Framework indicates Homeland Security is the focal point for preparedness and mitigation. The director of Homeland Security was appointed not on credentials and experience but on political loyalty. I am wondering how this has played out in regards to the federal response.

The Administration is waiting on the aftermath of this hurricane before it declares an emergency.

Pretty sure the NIH has been arguing for more than a decade we were not prepared for a Pandemic type virus outbreak and nobody listened. At least I think I remember in the past they were whining about it. This all falls under the Department of Health and Human Services as this is not considered a Biological Attack, it's classified as a natural virus outbreak. CDC also falls under HHS not under Homeland Security just a FYI in case anyone is wondering. :)

Though one thing strikes me as a no brainer here. Why is nobody mobilizing all those Army, National Guard and Army Reserve NBC units? I thought they were all trained in how to disinfect and clean up after germs.
