You are making an assumption that is not based on facts. The pandemic response team you are referring to was the officials at the WH and NSC. It did not include the people who actually reasearched the issues or took action. The CDC has a pandemic response team and took action when first notified of the virus and how fast it was moving.
You seem intent on blaming Trump when every non-political expert states the virus originated in China, spread wildly while Chinese officials hid the facts, and once it was reported, it still took awhile before the USA had in country infections.
When it began to be an issue for this country, Trump appointed the vice president as the point man who has more authority that someone at NSC or an aide to provide the necessary resources needed to combat the virus.
Now Trump has declared the pandemic a national disaster, has suspended travel between the USA and some European and Asian and Countries, the house has passed a bill to pay for the virus response.
What else are you expecting?

The President of the USA made a statement that he thought was truthful. He bases his response on information given to him. That doesn't make it idiotic.
What is idiotic is the media and those who choose to focus blame on Trump for a virus he did not cause, had no part in it's migration to the USA, and ignored the steps that have been taken to control the spread of the virus

SPC John Smith -
While George Costanza is not a character to emulate, there is truth in the quote.
1) If you look at the sky and think it looks blue but a scientist can show that it is actually cyan colored, are you wrong?
2) If a police officer stops you for speeding and you honestly thought you were doing the speed limit, are you lying when you tell the officer how fast you thought you were going?

A continuing pattern of being ill-informed and unprepared. No surprise here at all given his lack of empathy and compassion for others.

No offense, but any psychologist who claims to have made a clinical analysis on an individual that they have never met, interviewed, or had access to their life's medical and psychological history is a piss poor psychologist and their analysis is not credible in my opinion.
The fact is, there are a number of documented cases where highly respected psychologists had full access to an individual along with their medical and psychological screenings and still get the diagnosis wrong. That is one reason why the insanity plea is so popular with attorneys.
I don't claim to have a degree in psychology or sociology, my degree is in Criminal Justice and I have 34 years experience dealing with people.
My experience shows that many people have at least 2 personas, 1 they show to the public and 1 they show in private. Sometimes the private self resembles the public self, many times it doesn't.
For the criminal types, you hear families and friends saying that "he isn't that way".
Trump's history and his close family and friends tend to indicate that his public persona is very different from his private persona.
Trump was well regarded by Democrats prior to his becoming a Republican. You seldom heard any complaints from the left wing media about him.
Regarding the main points of your post, ill informed and unprepared, the virus only recently was discovered and the USA had it's first in country victim less that a month ago. How is that unprepared or ill informed?
As for lack of empathy or compassion, please give a valid example. Did he personally refuse to allow a US resident to get treated or tested for COVID-19?

MSG (Join to see) - You are correct about the private (back stage) and public (front stage) personnas. Now many are developing a "digital self". I can send you copies of my published articles in this regard.
I have done my clinical research on Trump since his adolescence and have obtained a plethora of data which far exceeds a clinical assessment.
I understand and you make valid points.
You are not a clinician. I know very little about criminal justice.
For further clarification of my clinical position on Trump, I can send you copies of my research on him. Also view my profile. You can reach me " [login to see] ".
Then we can continue this valid discussion.
