Esper is essentially a rubber stamp for Trump. The skipper did what he felt had to do to shape medical and safety operations to protect the sailors and ships. The navy now has a black eye as it comes across as uncompassionate and vindictive against a man who loved his sailors.

It doesn't matter what the pandemic du jour is, it doesn't allow for the throwing out of regulations. If people got all bent out of shape about Hillary Clinton's emails, they should be equally outraged this CO did the essentially the same thing. By bypassing his chain of command, and releasing classified info about a National Asset carrier, he broke the rules. Period.
