I liked to go to Wilson's Creek...We even took a Leader's Day there and toured the site while I was at FLW.

As a Texan, I say they should study the Second Battle of Sabine Pass. A small fort with 46 Texans against 5,000 infantrymen and 22 ships. The Texans destroyed the invading force. Captured some of their ships, sank others, and took a great many POWs. It is a lesson in arrogance and respect for your enemy that commanders really do need to study. I realize this is a tongue in cheek duffleblog story, but the battle is real.

What happens when you give a career politician an EGO promotion of Military Rank they don't deserve.

Perfect, just perfect...
“I mean, I did everything you are supposed to – I attended the War College, I commanded a brigade, and my subordinates never once left the office before 1900. Oh, my results are in.”
“It looks like they assigned me Cold Harbor. I wonder why they gave me a battle that was just a fruitless waste of human life.”
Sigh...another fantastic satire that is a little too close to the truth for Duffle Blog.
