Some patients are very impatient to get a chance for a new medicine that has not been fully checked out. Sometimes agreeing to to take an experimental drug is the only way to get one NOW. i read in the DAV magazine about one man with PTSD who joined a study at the VA. He was given MDMA and counseling together with great results- - - his horrible symptoms ceased. MDMA is illegal and not yet approved for anything. He might never have gotten it through normal channels. (See DAV Magazine May/June 2020.
