His words would have been much better if they would begun that he is the chief master sergeant of the air force and just happens to be a black man.
He has had a hell of a career and a lot to be proud of in his accomplishments. Put that FIRST before race. Put that you are proud to be the enlisted leader of ALL of America’s airmen before you put your physical attributes. He is not the top black airman. He the top Airman, period.

Quite sure he has ALWAYS put ALL Airmen first. But at THIS point in time, BLACK airmen are in great danger. They're ONE undercover racist cop at a traffic stop away from becoming a hashtag.
As soon as people get that thru their heads, we'll be able to start having REAL discussions about race. Because the shit isn't going away - at least for African Americans.
