Lmao. Looks like we are all similar. Mine won't care. I do side stuff with law enforcement that supplements my habit. Keeps me from dipping into my operational budget for things like this.

She will still give me a little shit though. $1800 for a gun?!?! You cold have bought.......
My reply is yeah I could have bought one for $3600 but I didn't.
Then a vase will whistle past.....

TSgt David L. yeah, been married 41 years, and she knows but no longer cares. She took me to look at a gun at Cabela's and I had to tell her no?

SGM Billy Herrington - Hahaha I always go worst case when being questioned! "I could've spent twice as much on item x!" Logic doesn't play well when she's pissed but it's all good in the end. Just like with bike parts, I throw a new pistol her way every once in a while and all is forgiven! LOL

Did you get one, Cayle? I don't remember if we discussed this or not.

I know this will piss the .308 shooters off (I like it but never a big fan. I do NOT own a rifle in that caliber, and that is a LOT of guns) but the 6.5 Creedmoor IS a superior round. It is EASILY A 800m round (done it) and suppose to be good to 1,200 plus. Repeatedly! That I hope to prove soon.

Not yet, it's probably the next one on my extremely long list.

LOL I hear ya! I have a decent list of rifles and pistols I want to build/buy still. It's tough to manage my budget for bike parts and guns, so I have to prioritize my shopping list. My bikes usually win out since I ride them every day! LOL

In Camp Perry competition, the 30-06 rained supreme in the M-1 Garand until the Navy showed up with the M-14 in 308. At the 1000 yard line, you could here the 06 hit behind the target, where the 308 hit a little further back. Point being, we keep coming up with new calibers that require all new guns and equipment, but at what cost is it not worth the few yards further, or a 100 or 200 fps faster? Even today we have scopes that you can program to put a dot in the right spot to shoot for hundreds of yards. I am just tired of filling up safes with the latest and greatest rifles only to pull out what I know I can shoot well and has worked in the past. I love this discussion though!

TSgt Larry Johnson - The Garand, and the 03 A3 are tough to beat. The .30-06 is still my all around go to round for western game animals.
I don't chase the latest and greatest gun tech. I haven't got tired of putting guns in the safe yet! LOL

Me as well. All of my guns (3 of them ;-) went fishing and never came back home. I expected with ARs of course, being evil at heart! Hahaha
