Champion said he has been told APD was attempting to get back-up support from adjacent law enforcement agencies. But he said some agencies declined to help.
“Why would you put your officer in Fulton County and take the chance of this happening?” Champion said. "You have an officer who just heard what Paul Howard said, saying he’s going to be in prison for the rest of his life or put to death, and now he’s got to surrender."

A great many folks see LEOs as armed, salaried thugs who are immune from prosecution. The phrase "... a few bad apples ..." has never been valid.

Those that see officers that way are more often than not uninformed at best but most likely are criminals

SSG (Join to see) - Like most folks, I've never been arrested, charged, cuffed or even interviewed by a cop. A couple of high-velocity tickets the extent of my official dealings.
I have been around cops first hand too many times to accept being considered uninformed.

I am not surprised by this. Solutions need to be found; training accomplished or lawlessness will prevail

Ma'am, the "victim" stole the officers taser and fired it at him. The officer shot the "victim" while the taser was aimed at him.
