Politics, just like the Senate dems stalled the Police bill so the house could unveil theirs first and get all the headlines.

Yes, call it a part of Maryland, agree. DC is already bloated enough without having a state government (with of course, more taxes and more control).

Then how about just giving residents of D.C. fair representation and voice. Clearly they do not feel they are being represented fairly by members of Congress whom technically all represent 50 other states. "Taxation without Representation" was just one element the colonists used to justify their cause for revolution. Not saying, D.C. will ever revolt but it's still the same principle they're demanding.
And when the defense is "the Democrats want 2 more guaranteed seats...", shall we debate North and South Dakotas and the 4 guaranteed GOP seats for two states whom population size is similar to D.C. Or Wyoming whose population is smaller than D.C. I'm not asking for Chicago to become a state but just seems like 700k+ people should have fair representation in Congress that legitimately calls D.C. home; not just one delegate in the House with limited voting power and zero influence.

In case you missed it, return the land to Maryland. Virginia took back their portion of the District.

CPT Jack Durish Excellent. Lets do that. Make it a state or make it part of Maryland. Either way, the people of DC should be properly represented unlike they are today.
