Brooks is/was a criminal. Police firing the officer and the DA going after him is a purely political stunt. The Police should have followed their orn SOP and placed the Officer on suspension during the investigation. The DA who is a known grand stander should have been told to shut up until he have all the evidence.

Another career criminal that we are putting above our own defenders. These cops acted appropriately. He was driving drunk, got pulled over, attacked a cop, took his taser and turned it on him. If he had been tased, there is no telling what he would have done to the cop after that. He used lethal force to defend himself and now he is being charged. The DA is a damn politician that if he isn't kissing babies he is stealing their lollipops. He said the week before that a taser was a lethal weapon but now that it is in the hands of a criminal then it is now not a weapon?

Don’t forget, if a bad guy shoots at a cop over his shoulder, you can’t return fire because it would be shooting him/her in the back.

MCPO Roger Collins - that is why I am not a cop...when rounds are buzzing by my head form a suspect, I am not going to see if he/she is looking at me or not I am going to draw down and return fire to protect myself and I would probably be the same situation this officer is.
