Yup the POTUS has not taken the advice of his military commanders at times. As I recall POTUS Kennedy did not take the advice of Gen. Lemay either when he wanted to bomb Cuba. So the CIC has the option no go along with the advice given or not to. Also how many different commanders have been to Afghanistan and failed to bring it under control? That list sir is long and distinguished! But most got their next star.
For the time being I am going to accept the reports that he was not told of the reports. If the Intelligence Agency’s can show that they briefed POTUS on it on said day well then we have a different situation. But again the previous two Presidents knew the Iranians were helping the Iraqi insurgents build IEDs more specifically the EFP version that blew apart my truck in January 2008. You asked a question, I answered it. Bobby then lied about pay raises. During the first four years of Obama, the pay raises were 3.9%, 3.4%, 1.4%, and 1.6%. As an E8 over 24, your base pay would have gone up 10.7% (total raise divided by starting base pay) under Obama, and only 10.6% under Trump (raises of 2.1%, 2.4%, 2.6%, and 3.1%).

As for props? During the 2018 elections, Trump sent the military to the border for a non-existent "invasion". Now the military is being sent to the border again, despite a lack of need. In May, 23,000 were arrested on the border, last year at the same time it was 137,000. It's an election prop, not a legitimate need.

I'm glad that you brought up the military aid to the Ukraine, where Trump was soliciting a bribe in return for the aid until that crime was discovered.
