Report: Pentagon orders Stars and Stripes newspaper to shut down by Sept. 30th after 159 years

I think in my entire career, I read it 3 times. 2 of which were months old...

Read Stars and Stripes (we called it Yesterday's News Tomorrow) everyday when I was stationed in Turkey 89-90. It was our only option if I recall. Every once in a while the bookstore on base would get a shipment of the New York Times, but other than that it was our newspaper.
I would imagine today with immediate access to even your local hometown paper via the interwebs there really is no longer a need for it.

When I was on deployments I read it on a regular basis.
