There is a lot of info to cover in an education. Unbelievable the stuff they leave out... on purpose.

My grandson graduated high school in 2017 and they never got to the Vietnam War in history classes.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Maybe we should get rid of all these standardized tests. Take too much time out of the school year.

It is extremely sad that history, let alone real history, is no longer being taught in the schools these days. I sub'd a few years back and the students would look at me like I had 2 heads, when I contradicted something in their Hx text. They (books) forget that numerous veterans, some who actually lived during those times are now teaching. My wife who's a teacher of 4th grade, every year, teaches her kids about Arlington, WW's 1 & 2, Korea and Vietnam. Over that wk, I bring a Japanese flag that once belonged to my father, as well as other items of a military nature. These kids may not get that in the higher grades, btu she makes damn sure they get it in her class.

Good for her. I can still remember many of the things from 4th and 5th grade history.
