I think I am accurate to say medevac and medics did not get the collective and personal recognition they deserved. By definition if they are picking up and aiding the wounded, it is because it is hot area and have to maneuver in such conditions that were also dangerous for the fallen. We can't thank them enough. I know many of them did not come home alive.

Great story. US Army Helo War in Vietnam = America’s longest and most controversial war --- over 58, 300K KIA, more than 30K KIA in 68 & 69, 42 members of my flight class KIA and 50% wounded, injured, or ill. The war produced 10,000 amputees. 40,000 helicopter pilots served in Vietnam and most were Army. Flying helos was a very dangerous business with 4,905 helo crew members KIA. 90% of 390k wounded were saved (golden hour) because of the helicopter and the brave crews. God bless, Larry
