The only charges were for the bullets that missed.

A1C Chris Pointer - I don't think so. If Hankison had hit anyone, at the worst he would have been charged with reckless homicide. The two officers inside were in a different situation, they legally entered the apartment and were fired upon by Taylor's new boy friend and one was wounded. They returned fire.
Some of the misinformation that went around was that it was the wrong address, it wasn't, and that they didn't knock, which they did also. In the present political climate, they probably won't charge the boy friend, but why he isn't as responsible or more responsible for the outcome than the cops is beyond me.

I live in the state, but the verdict for the two officers that actually entered the apartment was a forgone conclusion. They had a warrant, they knocked, they were fired upon when they entered. All well documented and confirmed by the shooter. I doubt that the other officers are concerned about Hankison, he endangered them as much as anyone else in the apartment.

1SG Walter Craig - I wouldn't want him covering my back. He was fired almost immediately, no sympathy at all for him there either.
The Prosecutor knew the outcome when he took it to the Grand Jury.

I think the AG in Kentucky said it best when he said that not all tragedies fall under criminal law (or something along those lines). Unfortunately, the court of public opinion doesn't care about actual rules and laws or letting the justice system do its job. They hold themselves up to be the judge, jury, and executioner and right now they want blood in the streets. This country is in a mess.

MAJ (Join to see) “”Court of Public Opinion””? Was the riot not prearranged before the actual verdict was announced? They don’t have opinions, they take the money, party and listen to the party BS to get all excited. If a U-Haul was dispensing riot materials - can the FBI determine if a gathering place was used for the leaders to incite the rioters? Word of mouth cannot carry that much lust for destruction.

CSM Charles Hayden - You're probably right. Last night was definitely a planned event.

MAJ (Join to see) The more I think about it, the more I recall how people can be exhorted to abnormal actions by feverish speeches given by skillful rabble-rousers - or good leaders in our vernacular. Word of mouth cannot have the same effect as Hitler’s speeches did for the “Third Reich”!

1SG Walter Craig - Absolutely - I saw that U haul truck video as well, those signs and other items cost money, there is an entity funding this. Whether it is BLM, or Corporate donations, or an individual billionaire, this was planned, organized, and has a central command authority.
