Can help think of that E1 or 1st LT getting his paycheck for the first time.. then realizing months later when taxes are due how used and underpaid they must feel. You can’t claim taxes in most states for charity donations or work related expenses anymore, unless you are a Ln educator or work in the medical field. Yet Donald Trump can claim taxes on donations made to charity organizations he owns.. a true Christian, and man of integrity and honesty. What’s next? He’ll claim to be a family man? LOL.. He did and republicans believed him!

That's why he refuses to release them. He's under audit.

Naturally, tax attorneys may advise clients against publicly disclosing such information, but this is a matter of legal counsel, not prohibition. A recent CNN article put the issue in proper context. "Technically, there's nothing preventing Trump from releasing his tax returns now," the article stated. "Most tax attorneys would typically advise a client against doing so if they're under audit to avoid further scrutiny. Once the tax returns are out, reporters could find something that the IRS missed. Of course, most tax attorneys don't represent presidents or people running for the White House."

In short: Withholding tax information for audit is a public relations tactic, not a legal requirement.
