Thanks for the share. I think some equipment is appropriate while other stuff is not. This cannot be done with a broad brush law.

Kind of much ado about nothing if you ask me.
The real deal is that the Pentagon had a boatload of gear that was rush-produced for OIF, but not really needed or wanted when that mission wound down. Police departments in larger cities had a need for armored vehicles for SWAT and such, and the marriage was made.
