Our founding fathers detested monarchies when the American nation was born. They invented democracy and wrote a constitution to prevent what Trump is trying to do. They would be appalled by Trump if they were alive today.
It really is a fvcked situation as Trumpers have bought into Trumps fanciful lies and believe Trump is a modern day George Washington and the supporters are patriots. The 1800s military theorist Carl Von Clausewitz opined there exists 3 important components to martial endeavors.
- The Government: Trump is inciting passions with his lies.
- Passion of the People: His supporters are so riled up that they feel like patriots.
- Military Capbaility: To what extent will Trump's supporters mete out violence?
It is pretty pathetic that the far right have all 3 components.
