OKay. Lots of former officers have all sorts of advice. My current advice, is keep your head down

If someone's advice is "keep your head down", it tells you a lot about the kind of officer they are.

Listen to your NCOs, be fit, and know your troops. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that any young Officer who hadn't already learned these lessons was probably not going to suddenly have an a-ha moment just because Mattis said it.
Yes, those are important, but a little bit disappointed with the lack of deeper thoughts.
