Stop. These kids were not separated. They are unaccompanied minors - that means they came to the border with NO adult with them. Due to the influx of more immigrants at the border, including more kids, they can't keep up with the influx and trying to find appropriate sponsors for these kids. Do you want them to just hand the kids over to just any random person? Or do you want them to screen these potential sponsors first?

You need to research what you're posting because Biden's administration has been working to reunite more kids than Trump's did. He signed an EO last month to review the "Migrant Protection Protocols" that separated families. 5,000 children were separated from parents or guardians under Trump's policies.

In fact within the first month, there have been 105 children reunited with their parents. There's still more waiting to be reunited but most of those kids parents probably got deported and it's going to be hard to find them.

What policies has Biden enacted since he was inaugurated that are separating more kids than Trump? I can't find any. I find policies that are reversing what Trump did, setting up a task force to reunite kids with parents and that 105 kids already are reunited.

Charlie Brown - wrong. Source your statement.

SFC (Anonymous): I'd just add one thing to this. The unaccompanied minors are being held on average for 106 hours before they are placed with relatives or others in the US pending their immigration hearings. That's a lot shorter time frame than the Trump administration was doing since the release to relatives policy was not really enforced. Huge difference between 106 hours and 100+ days.

Patricia Overmeyer - While I will not disagree, I will say that it STILL exceeds the 72 hour REQUIREMENT.

SFC Casey O'Mally - I agree it exceeds the 72 hour requirement. However, I know several immigration attorneys who are working this situation at the border. They are saying that while it would be great to get these kids out within the 72 hour requirement, the available resources are overwhelmed and the staff working these cases are doing quite a good job. One of the big obstacles is trying to contact the various adults whom these kids could be released to since they have to undergo background checks, etc. These are the same immigration attorneys who were seeing the horror show of separating kids from parents. If they aren't pitching a bitch fest at this point, then I think we are seeing a huge improvement over the last few years.

Heck, I might as well stay on this. Just to let you all know, we need these kids!! Why???? How about that little thing called social security. We all know the GOP hates social security, but how many of you want to be without it?? Thought so. We need these immigrants to fill out job market. Here is just one fact for you; America is short 1 million workers. Why?? Because right about 300,000 baby boomers are retiring every month right now and the birth rate is not cutting it. Anyway, I'm one of them boomers. I would sure like to see SS and my military retirement checks keep coming. So since we can't afford to wait 25 years for us to have enough kids to make up the shortage, best thing is to get in grown people or nearly grown people who can take up the slack. So, deal with it. The GOP caused the mess bringing them here and the Dems will have to fix it; like all of the other problems you left us. But the bottom line is--WE NEED THESE WORKERS.

Trump and the GOP could of changed the law that let them come. But then who would the right be able to focus their hate upon?? Remember, Trump said that there was an illegal hiding behind every tree. True Fact.
