Excellent share Greg. The mental gymnastics used by some Christians is astonishing. When they get backed into a corner with contradictions, inaccuracies, etc., they just appeal to faith. And as we know, faith is the excuse people give when they have no good reason for their belief. Because if they had good reasons, they wouldn't need faith.

Yes! They are Reliable. This is fascinating! Why would a non-Christian want to give their opinion about the Bible? It would sort of like me giving my opinion on the Koran. While I might know one or two lines from it. What I know would certainly be out of context, especially if I wasn’t taught it properly, or maybe wanted to argue a word’s literal meaning against the context of an entire teaching.

Capt Gregory Prickett - It always has to come to that about your brand of atheists and religion, we have to agree to disagree because you attack where you have no standing. I realize you believe somehow religion is trying to rob you of something, but not even more that a company using your email address you give to get a discount. Because of this you will always come across as a bully because you are always attacking where there is no need to. MHO.

SFC (Join to see) - I'm an American. I have absolute standing to speak up on religion. Second, I don't believe that "religion" is trying to rob me of anything, and I'm no more a bully than those who threaten eternal torture for not joining their club.

Third, presenting the RP community with a presentation by a distinguished college professor in the field is merely presenting a counter-point to the entire religious services posted to RP by other members. Why aren't you stepping up and asking them to stop?

Capt Gregory Prickett - There you go proving my point for me Sir. Thank you. Myself, I usually only attack when I have to. In your case I respond to provide balance for what you write. While we're opposite sides of the coin, it's a US coin. That's what keeps me going.
